The project is supported by Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies. It aims to engage medical education entitles across India to integrate gender concerns in UG (MBBS course) so as to reduce health inequities and recognise social dimensions related to health risks, health seeking behaviour and health outcomes. It aims to integrate gender concerns by building a cadre of gender informed medical educators across India to facilitate gender perspective in UG curricula and collaborate to remove harmful medical practices. The proposed initiative is envisaged as collaboration with key medical education departments of states in India. Pool of gender informed medical educators from Maharashtra (who have pioneered this initiative since 2015) and organisations such as MUHS, UNFPA and WHO.
