Violence and Health

Our work brings to the fore the human rights dimensions of health and healthcare in situations of violence and conflict. Under this research area, we focus on medico-legal issues that impact healthcare and its delivery and pay special attention to the health needs of young people.

Impact and Outcomes

Developed the Dilaasa model, a crisis intervention centre, to strengthen health systems’ response to violence against women and girls (VAWG). On-boarding seven Indian states in implementing a health system response to VAWG.

CEHAT assists state health departments in a technical role to develop standard operating practices and brings about system-level changes to sensitively address VAWG.

CEHAT set up a national, 24x7 helpline, and developed a set of guidelines for responding to violence against women and children in crisis times.
