HEALTH INFORMATION CENTRE
Centre for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes (CEHAT) had established Health Information Centre. It Consists of Library,Documentation and Publications. The Centre has been managed by a team of four professionals.
LIBRARY AND DOCUMENTATION
The Objective
Primary objective of the library is to collect, compile, preserve and produce the information as and when required by the researcher within CEHAT also for outside users.
Library Timings
The Cehat Library is open on all working days (Monday to Friday) between 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Library Arrangement
The entire library collection is classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system and placed on racks clockwise with proper labeling to meet the requirements of users.
Library Collection
The CEHAT's library has a rich collection of books, journals, articles, selected newspaper's clippings, relating to health and allied subjects / topics. There is separate reference section in library, which has a fairly large collection of Annual reports of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GOI, Reports of the various Committees and commissions on Health, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopedias, Year Books, Gazetteers, Census Reports, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopedias, Gazetteers, Year Books etc. This section is widely used.
The Library subscribes 29 periodicals and 8 Newspapers regularly. Library receives 23 periodicals on Exchange and gratis from other institutions /organizations.Periodicals /Journals are preserved in bound volumes for reference purpose. CEHAT's Library has maintained files of selected newspaper clippings on Health (General), Health Economics, HealthInsurance, Health Policy Planning, Women and Health, PNDT, Drug/Pharmaceutical, Medical Ethics, HIV/AIDS, Mental Health, Womne (General), Violence, etc.

Daily Newspapers
CEHAT's Library has maintained files of selected newspaper clippings on health and related topics; Domestic Violence; Women in General; Health Economics; Health Insurance etc.
Library Computerization
As part of library computerization we had created library Database using CDS/ISIS package for Windows Version (WINISIS) developed by UNESCO. Bibliographical information about 5616 documents is available on the computer. It facilitates easy retrieval of required documents.
