Our Institutional Ethics Committee (2003 onwards)

Jaya Sagade: She is the Vice Principal of the ILS Law College, Pune. She is teaching law for last 24 years. Recently, she completed her S.J.D. (Doctor of Juridical Science) from the University of Toronto. She is associated with many NGOs.

Joseph Lobo: Lecturer in Philosophy. He has thirty years of experience in academics. Worked as Founder Director of an NGO, VACHAN, which is engaged in development programme in villages of Igatpuri taluka. Also been a Founder Director of Centre for Development Research & Documentation (CDRD).

Nagmani Rao: Masters in social work. Worked on issues of drought, women's health, and violence against women as an activist in rural Maharashtra. Was looking after the Publications Unit of FRCH, editing Research Reports and FRCH Newsletter for 4 years. Teaching in Urban and Rural Community Development Department, Karve Institute of Social Science, Pune since January 1995.

Sandhya Srinivasan: Masters in Sociology and in Public Health, Journalist since 1985, freelance health writer since 1995. Consultant on health and population for www.infochangeindia.org since 2001. Currently the Executive Editor of the journal Issues in Medical Ethics.

Soumitra Pathare: Post Doctorate in Psychiatry. Also M R C Psychiatry, London. He is an Advisor of Mental Health Policy and Service Development Unit, WHO. He is a Convenor of Working Group, appointed by Commissioner of Disabilities, Government of Maharashtra and teaches at Maharashtra Institute of Mental Health, Pune.

Shabana Diler: Masters in social work. Worked with YUVA in Pune on a project Anubhav Shiksha which dealt with issues of the college youth and later on a urban community development project. She currently works at the SNDT University's Adult Education Department on a project supporting the Waste Pickers' Union.

Anant Phadke: Graduate in Medicine. Since 1998, has been leading the team in Cehat on action, advocacy Programme on Primary Health Care. Worked full time since 1978 as a volunteer for 20 years for the Health and Science Movement in India and on Primary Health Care.

Nilangi Nanal: Masters in Health Sciences and Graduate of Ayurveda stream of Medicine. She has been working in CEHAT since 2002. She has been responsible for training Women Community Health Workers, especially in the field of Women's Health and Herbal Medicine. She has also contributed to research and documentation in the area of Nutrition and Primary Health Care.

Padma Deosthali: Masters in Social Work. Also has post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management. She has been working in CEHAT since 1998 on women's health. She is presently coordinating a hospital based crisis centre for women facing domestic violence in a public hospital.
