ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCIES AT PEHEL
PEHEL- A research and training initiative of CEHAT, on gender based violence is looking for candidates for the post of a Research officer. The nature of work at Pehel involves conducting research on the linkages between violence and health, training and sensitization of health care providers and community based workers on gender based violence and health.
I) VACANCIES FOR 2 MIDDLE OR SENIOR LEVEL RESEARCHERS
CEHAT is looking for middle or senior level researchers for its resource center PEHEL which means initiative in Hindi. The current project “RESEARCH AND TRAINING INITIATIVE ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (VAW)” -aims to conduct research, develop training and documentation tools to sensitize public health systems to respond to survivors of conflict.
Job Responsibilities (Pehel, Study on Conflict)
- Conceptualize the study on understanding effects of on-going communalism on women’s lives.
- Develop guidelines for Health Care Professionals to respond to cases of violence in conflict areas.
- Review reports, papers and documents related to the response of the law enforcement agencies to the survivors of conflict.
Qualification
Post Graduate in social science or graduate in medicine with relevant 3 to 5 years experience.The candidates must have a sound understanding on the issue of Violence Against Women and a perspective on the issue of conflict and health along with an overall knowledge and experience of conducting research. The job would require traveling for the purpose of data collection. The candidate must have good writing skills and ability to work independently. The candidate should be enthusiastic and willing to learn. The candidate should have managed quantitative data and should be able to use the SPSS package.
II) VACANCIES FOR MIDDLE AND JUNIOR LEVEL TRAINERS
CEHAT is looking for middle and junior level persons for its project Dilaasa. Dilaasa, India’s first hospital based crisis department was established at K. B. Bhabha hospital, Mumbai to make the public health care system accountable to the issue of domestic violence. The current project aims at setting up similar hospital based crisis centres across the country.

- Anchoring training across various crisis centres in India
- Conduct, adapt, and conceptualize trainings on Violence against women for the replication sites.
