Advancing health sector response to violence against women.

The project seeks to provide technical support to the replication of 13 Dilaasa centres in BMC hospitals of Mumbai. CEHAT aims to work in close links with the core groups of healthcare providers and capacitate them to take on the training of their peers and monitor the quality of services provided to VAW survivors.  It will also work closely with counselors of the Dilaasa centres and share their case load related to complicated cases (burns, attempted suicides, life threatening assaults, severe mental health consequences and the like).

Since the past three years, CEHAT has been engaged in equipping states to establish health sector response to VAW. In the coming three years, we aim to deepen these efforts in 7 states to create a comprehensive health care response to VAW. CEHAT will engage with Goa, Haryana, Delhi, and Akola in Maharashtra and Shillong in Meghalaya along with civil society organisations as well as departments of health, WCD and home.
