Training Workshop of counsellors was conducted at Asilo District Hospital, Mapusa on 18th June at and at Hospicio District Hospital, South Goa on 19th June, 2019. The main objective of the training was to provide hand holding support to the counsellors, currently working in the intervention centres to provide counselling to victims/ survivors of violence. A team of two resource person; from CEHAT visited the hospital and also interacted with the Nodal Persons of the Crisis Intervention Centre at the two hospitals to provide technical assistance on site.
The training included sessions on Feminist Counselling, Safety Assessment Plan and Role of Health Care Providers. The training constituted of an interactive session wherein the counsellors shared cases they had dealt with in the recent past and discussed the intervention they undertook and the challenges that they faced.
The two teams working with addressing violence against women were self motivated and actively participated in sharing feedback as to what are the needs of the program in order to strengthen the healthy systems response to violence.
