DILAASA meaning “reassurance” is India’s first hospital based crisis centre for survivors of domestic/sexual violence established in 2000. The Dilaasa model has been replicated in several places in India such as Meghalaya, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana,Gujarat amongst others. Dilaasa crisis centres were integrated in National Urban Health Misison (NUHM) in 2016 with a clear budget and personnel.

The author talks about how and why DILAASA centres are needed in the health setting, services that these crisis centres provide and role they play in survivors journey of justice .
