Research Project

Towards Strengthening Health and Health Care In India

Research Area : Health Services and Financing

The main objective of the project is to generate evidence on neglected areas like migrant’s health, urban health, and conduct research on aspects of health policy like User Fees and Public Private Partnerships. The Pregnant Mother-to-Child Transmission Programme which is being implemented through the public health system would be studied through a gender lens. The research findings would be utilised to advocate for policy review and reforms in the health sector. Training on understanding social sector budgets for civil society groups to support advocacy for resource allocation at the district level will be undertaken in two states.

Demand accountability of the state to the health needs of women survivors of violence and advocate for the role of health professionals in the implementation of the PWDV Act 2005 and set up a dynamic web-based system for dissemination of health information and in the training and sensitisation of health professionals on Violence Against Women as a public health issue.
